Collapsing Stage, The brings together works by John Divola, Karen Thuesen Massaro, KateCostello, Linda Stark, Max Ernst, Miljohn Ruperto and Ulirk Heltoft, Original Replica BirdsEggs, and Torjorn Vejvi that measure space with singular, invented methods. Though theworks cover a range of media they are bound by drawing, and its tendency to simultaneouslyarticulate and dislocate, producing documents that are part recording and part invention. In 2015 TMG presented Open House, a group show that gathered works that investcommunicative, short hand languages with very particular and personal arguments for desire. Collapsing Stage, The is a follow up to that exhibition, and continues to consider artworks of broken mimesis and hot verisimilitude.
